The Association Team

All the activities designed to promote the Jean Monnet House are handled by a Paris office.  It is composed of permanent staff members headed by a Director, Arnaud Pinon, as well as official representatives.  A graduate of the Lyon Management School in 1987 and the European Studies Institute of Brussels Free University in 1989, Arnaud Pinon also teaches European law and European affairs at the University of Paris IV and in various business schools.

At the Jean Monnet House, the Association employs:

-         Two guards, also in charge of welcoming guests

-         Five lecturers.  Two are permanent (Elsa Glombard, Julien Gascard) and three give specialized lectures or welcome groups of foreign visitors on an occasional basis.  (On request, visits and lectures are given in English, German, Spanish, or Italian).

Joining the Association

The Association welcomes those wishing to support its objectives, particularly as regards help in its work with its various partners, most importantly the European institutions.

Membership applications, including a letter with reasons for wishing to join and biographical information, are presented to the Administrative Council when it meets twice yearly.   Membership applications should be sent to the Association Jean Monnet, 9bis rue Georges Berger, 75017 Paris.  The membership fee is 35 € per year.

Members receive the Lettre d'Houjarray, the periodical letter published by the Association, and they are invited to participate in the Association's special events and activities.

Funds

Governed by the Law of 29th July 1901, the Association receives two kinds of funds:

-         permanent funds for the administration and programmes of the Houjarray House, provided by the European Parliament, the European Commission and Association membership fees.

-         occasional funds for specific projects, provided notably by the Ile-de-France (Paris Region) Regional Council and the Ministry of European Affairs.

The Jean Monnet Association is subject to  budgetary control by the European institutions.  Its auditor is the Mazard Guérard Office.
